The time has come to sell our cozy and spacious basement loft. It’s in an artist only converted mill building within walking distance of Mass MoCA. (Mass MoCA is the largest contemporary art museum in North America and with the opening of the Sol LeWitt Exhibit was declared to be the #1 art destination in the US by Time magazine.) This is the largest, most energy efficient and most private loft in the building. It’s also the only loft with direct access to the back yard area by the river. We have about 2400 sf of living and office space with about another 1000 sf of studio work space in the back. We have 2 large bedrooms and bathrooms, an entry gallery, huge kitchen, and generous living area. Even the hallway is over 6 ft. wide.

With recent sales in this building at approximately $113/sf, this prime unit is a steal at less than $88/sf.

This was the fulfillment of my 15 year, unfulfilled fantasy to own and build out an industrial loft and we had a grand time doing it! We embraced the industrial history and nature of the building and tried to keep that as our guiding vision in our renovation. It is a really comfortable and very flexible space. The great thing about a loft is that no rules aesthetic that lets you put a gilded french antique next to an adirondack twig chair and an old steel medical cabinet. This gives you the basics and I’ll do additional pages with more detailed information on different parts of the loft. Look for them in the grey boxes on the right. (This may be the first real estate ad you’ve seen that didn’t leave you frustrated for more information.  ;-)
